Live Downtown
Best for minimizing commute time. You'll be in the heart of campus life!
Living downtown, you can walk to class in just 5 to 15 minutes. Daily amenities like print shops, art supply stores, supermarkets, and cafes are all within easy reach. This makes it easy to handle late-night deadlines or early morning classes!
Neighbourhoods to Scout
  1. South: Queen St. West / Grange Park area
  2. North: Dundas St. West / Chinatown
  3. East: University Ave.
  4. West: Spadina - Kensington Market
Corresponding Advantages
  1. Modern condos, lots of cafés, groceries, and TTC access. Even closer to the Richmond St. campus.
  2. Affordable eats, many student rentals, excellent transit links.
  3. Safe, next to Line 1 subway, newer high-rise buildings.
  4. Vibrant, diverse community, great for lovers of markets and unique shops.
Considerations:
When choosing to live downtown, adventurer, keep two things in mind:

1. The rent here is usually among the highest in the city.

2. Many older standalone houses may have maintenance issues, poor insulation, or lack security features!


So, be sure to inspect carefully when viewing a place!
Live Along Transit Lines
Great option if ou want lower rent while keeping easy access to
Keep these two key routes in mind: the 505 streetcar will take you directly to the school's front door. While the north-south Line 1 subway connects many livable neighborhoods along its path, serving as your commuting lifeline~

  3. Served by Line 1 subway stations. The area has great international grocery options.
  4. On Line 1, reliable commute.
Tips:
Adventurer, you will mainly find two types of places to live.

Condos are often newer and may include extras like a gym or security, but they are rented by individual owners and can be more expensive.

Rental apartment buildings are run by a company, have clear rules, and usually offer steadier, lower-cost rent.
